The Boston 2026 World Expo has received $15,000 in donations from a pair of U.S.-based philatelic organizations this March.
The first donation to Boston 2026 by an auction house, $10,000 came from Robert A. Siegel Auction Galleries, based in New York City, and its President Scott Trepel. The Siegel firm will also staff a large dealer booth on the Boston 2026 bourse.
Siegel’s president since 1992, Trepel received the American Philatelic Society’s John Walter Scott Dealer Award at the Great American Stamp Show in 2021. The firm also served as a major contributor to the New York 2016 World Stamp Show, the previous once-in-a-decade world philatelic exhibition in the United States.
Also in March, Boston organizers received a $5,000 donation from the Collectors Club of Chicago (CCC) board of directors. Founded in the late 1920s, the CCC meets at the club’s stately four-storey row house property in downtown Chicago’s Gold Coast district; however, most current members reside in other parts of the country and abroad. The clubhouse also holds the midwestern United States’ largest philatelic library collection, which both members and non-members can access to conduct research requiring philatelic literature.
Boston 2026 will take place from May 23-30, 2026, at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center.
