Ottawa philatelists Chris Green and Eliseo Temprano are the new owners of Sparks Auctions.
“Having been involved with Sparks in its earliest days, I’m delighted to be working with the team to see the company through its next stage of growth,” says Green, who will lead the philatelic aspects of the business.
The Ottawa-based company was previously owned by a group of shareholders, with longtime philatelic dealer Ian Kimmerly serving as president of the board.
Green assures collectors that familiar faces at the firm, including Peter MacDonald, Kate Morrow and Matt Johnston, will continue in their roles, ensuring the same friendly service that customers have come to expect since Sparks’ first sale in 2007. He also expresses gratitude to Kimmerly for his guidance and encouragement.
“Having started my philatelic career over 20 years ago as a student working at Kimmerly’s shop on Sparks Street, his advice, mentorship, and support over many years have been invaluable,” Green says.
Both Green and Temprano emphasize their commitment to the values that have driven the company since its founding while enthusiastically pursuing new opportunities.
