Collectors from across Ontario and beyond will gather this weekend for the National Postage Stamp and Coin Show, set for April 11 to 12 at the Hilton Mississauga/Meadowvale.
The two-day event remains one of Canada’s premier marketplaces for stamps, postal history and related collectibles, with more than 50 professional philatelic and numismatic dealers expected to fill the bourse floor. From Canadian classics and worldwide issues to covers, postcards and specialized material, the show offers a broad cross-section of the philatelic market.
Philatelists will find a particularly strong presence on the bourse, with dealers specializing in Canadian stamps, British North America and worldwide postal history. Many dealers will also be offering appraisals, providing collectors with an opportunity to better understand the value and significance of their material.
The show will also feature a strong exhibiting component, including the North Toronto Stamp Club’s annual exhibition and a new single-frame competition for Ontario clubs, adding further depth for collectors interested in competitive philately.
Doors open at 10 a.m. both days, with the show running until 5 p.m. on Saturday and 3 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $6 on Saturday and $3 on Sunday, with free parking available at the venue.
A highlight for younger collectors is the popular Youth Auction, scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m. Designed to introduce the next generation to collecting, participants bid on stamps, coins and supplies using play money, with guidance from experienced hobbyists.
With its blend of buying, selling, exhibiting and hands-on learning, the National Postage Stamp and Coin Show continues to serve as an important gathering point for Canada’s philatelic community.
