Canadian philatelists interested in exhibiting at SLOVPHILEX 2027 have until Oct. 15 to submit their applications through Canadian commissioner Ed Kroft.
The deadline is approaching following an extension by the exhibition’s organizing committee, which moved the original summer application deadline to Oct. 15, 2026.
SLOVPHILEX 2027, a Specialized World Stamp Championship Exhibition, will be held June 30-July 4, 2027, at the Slovak National Gallery in Bratislava, Slovakia. The exhibition is being organized by the Union of Slovak Philatelists under the patronage of the Fédération Internationale de Philatélie (FIP).
For Canadian exhibitors, SLOVPHILEX is currently the only FIP exhibition open for entries in 2027.
CANADIAN ENTRIES SOUGHT
Kroft is encouraging Canadian collectors interested in international exhibiting to submit their applications before the Oct. 15 deadline.
“This is an excellent opportunity for Canadian exhibitors to showcase their material on the international stage,” Kroft said.
The exhibition is expected to accommodate approximately 1,500 frames.
Competitive classes include traditional philately, postal history, thematic philately, revenue philately, open philately and picture postcards. Exhibits in these classes may be entered in one-, two-, three-, five- or eight-frame formats. Aerophilately and postal stationery classes will not be offered.
A separate philatelic literature class will include monographs, periodicals and digital media.
INTERNATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS APPLY
Qualification requirements follow international exhibiting standards. Five-frame exhibits must have previously earned at least a vermeil medal, or 75 points, at the Canadian national level, while eight-frame exhibits require at least a large vermeil medal at a previous FIP exhibition.
Acceptance notifications are expected by Oct. 31, with exhibit fees and title pages due by Dec. 31. Fees are 120 euros per competitive frame, 140 euros for one-frame exhibits and 80 euros for philatelic literature entries.
