CSN will host its first free virtual CSN Lounge on Oct. 20 featuring Canada Post Director of Stamp Services Jim Phillips, who’s set to retire the following month.

In the one-hour Zoom session beginning at 7 p.m. (ET), CSN Editor Mike Walsh and reporter Jesse Robitaille will sit down with Phillips and attendees to discuss the stamp program, including this year and next year’s issues, plus how stamps are issued in terms of their distribution and release dates. They will also explore the immediate and long-term impacts the pandemic has had on Canada Post’s direction, including with the stamp program.

“We hope all of our readers can tune into this free virtual event, the first of many, featuring the long-time face of the stamp program, Jim Phillips,” said Walsh. “While we wait to get back to major shows with speakers and presentations, CSN Lounge is a great opportunity to learn more about the hobby from people in the know while connecting with like-minded collectors.”

A question-and-answer period moderated by CSN will follow the live, podcast-style interview, so guests will have an opportunity to ask questions.

Gary Lyon, the New Brunswick-based owner of Gary J. Lyon (Philatelist) and Eastern Auctions, is sponsoring the year-long series of CSN Lounge events, which will be held monthly starting this month.
