Anonymous donor adds $10K to RPSC coffers

The Royal Philatelic Society of Canada (RPSC) has received a $10,000 bequest from an anonymous donor from British Columbia.

“It is your donations and sponsorships that will allow The RPSC to do more and stay relevant in this ever-changing environment,” according to a statement issued by the RPSC.

The RPSC accepts donations through its Philatelic Research Foundation. Its objectives include promoting youth philately and encouraging philatelic research.

“These objectives are achieved through donations of cash or of philatelic material from collectors and philatelists,” according to a statement issued by the foundation.

Donors will receive a charitable receipt for income tax purposes if the donation’s appraised fair market value is $100 or more.

Earlier this year, the Fredericton & District Stamp Club in New Brunswick also donated $1,000 to the RPSC. The roughly 25-member club is RPSC chapter 148 and served as the host of the 1999 Royal Convention. For more details, visit rpscfoundation.ca.
