USPS gives away free Jenny Invert

A collector in Atlanta, Georgia  has received a free upright $2 Jenny Invert pane from the United States Postal Service.

Linn’s  has confirmed the giveaway with the USPS.

According to the Linn’s article, the USPS came up with the idea of randomly selecting a USPS customer who had purchased one or more $2 Jenny Invert panes during the past year to receive a free upright Jenny Invert pane. The pane is also one of the undisclosed number of upright Jenny Invert panes to be given away for free are part of the 100 that were intentionally printed. No extra upright Jenny Invert panes were printed, the article stated.

The undisclosed collector first learned of this giveaway on Dec. 13 after receiving a ‘congratulations’ letter from the USPS.

Of the 100 panes, Linn’s states that only 21 have been publically claimed to date.
