U.S. Postal Service unveils Winter Whimsy stamps

As fall gives way to winter, the U.S. Postal Service celebrates the season with its new Winter Whimsy Forever stamps, highlighting the delicate beauty of snowflakes.

According to USPS, these stamps, released as a tribute to winter’s charm, are designed to add a touch of seasonal magic to holiday mail.

In a set of four, each stamp features a crisp, white snowflake design set against a solid background in navy blue, teal, tan, or dark blue-green, framed with small white dots. USPS notes that the simple yet sophisticated digital artwork creates a bold winter aesthetic, perfect for the season.

The designs evoke not only snowflakes but also a beloved winter craft—the joy of cutting folded paper to reveal intricate, symmetrical patterns. Paper “snowflakes,” often four- or eight-sided, offer a timeless winter activity for crafters of all ages, according to USPS.

Guided by art director Greg Breeding, with illustrations by Bailey Sullivan, the Winter Whimsy stamps are available in booklets of 20. USPS adds that each Forever stamp will remain equal in value to the current First-Class Mail 1-ounce rate, making it a lasting addition to holiday correspondence.
