Toronto club recognizes member

The West Toronto Stamp Club (WTSC) recently held its final in-person meetings of its 2022-23 program, which offered time to “recognize exhibiting accomplishments, years of membership dedication to the club and the value of volunteerism,” according to President Sid Mensinga.

In addition to other honours, Mensinga recognized the club’s newest “distinguished loyal member” Ferdinand Olde Weghuis. “He has been a member of the WTSC for 25 years,” Mensinga wrote in the club’s July/August newsletter.

“Ferdinand is an eager auction participant, serious student of the hobby and encourages others as he enthusiastically participates in all aspects at our regular meetings.”

While the club’s in-person meetings are on a brief summer hiatus, officials will continue to host virtual learning workshop and discussion group programs through this summer.

The first in-person meeting of the 2023-24 WTSC program will take place on Sept. 12 in Etobicoke, Ont.
