The Week in Shows (March 3-9)

Updated March 6, 2019, to include the Victopical Stamp and Postcard Show on March 9-10.

There are six shows taking place across four provinces this week.

Today is the final day of Nuphilex, which is being held at a new venue, the McGill New Residence Hall on 3625 Parc Ave., in Montréal.

The bourse is open to the public today from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., and admission is free.

TROYAK CLUB SHOW

Also being held today is the Mississauga Coin and Stamp Show, which returns to the John Paul II Polish Cultural Centre on 4300 Cawthra Rd., in Mississauga.

Sponsored by the Troyak Club, the show will be open from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and feature more than 30 dealers across 60 tables of material, including Canadian and world stamps, banknotes, coins and hobby supplies.

NTSC SPRING BOURSE

Later this week, on March 9, the North Toronto Stamp Club Spring Bourse will return to Toronto’s Yorkminster Park Baptist Church on 1585 Yonge St.

Hosted by the North Toronto Stamp Club, the bourse will be open from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and feature 22 dealers, more than 100 sales circuit books, including recent issues, more than 100 10-cent books, a members’ table, door prizes (with the first prize being a kilogram of stamps) and free admission.

WINPEX 2019

Also on March 9, Winpex 2019, the annual show of the Essex County Stamp Club, will be held at the Caboto Club on 2175 Parent Ave., in Windsor, Ont.

The show will be open from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and features 14 dealers, a youth program with free stamps for “school-aged children” and free admission and parking.

VICTOPICAL

On March 9-10, the annual Victopical Stamp and Postcard Show will be held at the Comfort Inn and Suites on 3020 Blanshard St., in Victoria, B.C.

With junior and regular exhibits and a variety of dealers in stamps, postal history and postcards, the show is open today from 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Admission is by donation.

MONCTON STAMP FAIR

Rounding out the week in shows is the monthly Moncton Stamp Fair, which is held each month from October to May at the Royal Canadian Legion on 100 War Veterans Ave., in Moncton, N.B.

Hosted by the Fundy Stamp Collectors Club, the show on March 9 runs from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and features between four and six dealers plus a live auction at 1 p.m. Admission and parking are free.

NEXT WEEK

Looking forward to next week, there are two shows on the philatelic docket.

These include Richpex 2019, to be held March 15-16 in Burnaby, B.C., and a joint show—the 68th Annual Oxford Philatelic Society Exhibition and 39th Annual All-Ontario Topical Exhibition—on March 16 in Woodstock, Ont.
