The Week in Shows (Feb. 10-16)

There are five major shows on the philatelic docket this week.

Today is the final day of the Association des Numismates Francophones du Canada’s annual Coin and Stamp Show, which features more than 40 tables of dealers and exhibitors. Held at the Best Western Plus Hôtel Universel on 915 rue Hains in Drummondville, Qué., the show is open to the public from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., and admission is free.

Next up is the Ajax-Pickering Stamp Club Auction and Sale, which will be held Feb. 14 at Ajax Public Library on 55 Harwood Ave. S., in Ajax, Ont. Hosted by the Ajax-Pickering Stamp Club (Royal Philatelic Society of Canada Chapter 163), the auction will include 250 lots plus an addition 250 lots on sales tables.

Lot viewing will be held from 5 p.m.-7 p.m., with the auction taking place immediately after. Admission is $1.

BURLPEX 2019

The annual Burlington Stamp Show – Burlpex – will be held Feb. 16 at the Burlington Seniors’ Centre on 2285 New St., in Burlington, Ont.

The show will run from 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. with free parking and silent auctions.

SASKATCHEWAN

On Feb. 16-17 is the annual Regina Stamp Club Spring Show, which will be held at the Regina Senior Citizens Centre on 2134 Winnipeg St., in Regina, Sask.

Hosted by the Regina Philatelic Club, the show will feature about 10 dealers of stamps and coins as well as club member stamp displays. The bourse will be open on Feb. 16 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Feb. 17 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Admission is $3 a day or $5 for a two-day pass. Children under the age of 12 have free admission.

APS WINTER EXPO

Rounding out the week in shows is the American Philatelic Society’s winter conventionAmeriStamp Expo, which will be held Feb. 15-17 at the Mesa Convention Center on 263 North Center St., in Mesa, Arizona.

The bourse, which will feature more than 50 dealers, will be open on Feb. 15-16 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and on Feb. 17 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

NEXT WEEK

Looking forward to next week, there are two shows slated to take place.

These include the St. Thomas Stamp Club 33rd Annual Stamp Show in St. Thomas, Ont., and the Scarborough Stamp Club Show in Scarborough, Ont. Both shows are being held Feb. 23.
