THIS WEEKEND

Also taking place later this week, on May 4-6, is Stampshow ’18, which is being hosted by the Winnipeg Philatelic Society—western Canada’s oldest stamp club—at the Sunova Centre on 48 Holland Rd. in West St. Paul, Man. The show will boast 50 frames of competitive and non-competitive exhibits, show covers, upwards of 10 dealers and a youth table. Admission and parking are free.

On May 5, the annual Saugeen Stamp Club Show and Exhibition will be held at the Hanover Knights of Columbus Hall on 963 Bruce Rd. 4 in Hanover, Ont. The bourse will be open from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. and feature 12 dealers and a variety of competitive exhibits. Admission and parking are free.

Also being held May 5 is the Timmins Coin and Stamp Show, which will be held at the McIntyre Complex on 85 McIntyre Rd. in Timmins, Ont. Jointly hosted by the Timmins Coin Club and the Timmins Stamp Club, this fifth annual show will run from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. According to organizers, it’s Ontario’s “most northern annual coin and stamp show and is well attended by collectors around Northeast Ontario.” It features several dealers, silent auctions, exhibits, club tables and door prizes. Collecting supplies will also be available for purchase. Admission and parking are free.

On May 5-6, Orapex 2018 will be held at the RA Centre on 2451 Riverside Dr. in Ottawa, Ont. With one of Canada’s largest dealer bourses, an array of exhibits and a packed schedule of study group meetings and philatelic gatherings, Ottawa’s national stamp exhibition will offer something for every collector. It is one of Canada’s few national-level stamp shows and part of the American Philatelic Society “World Series of Philately.” In recognition of the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Armistice of Nov. 11, 1918, this year’s show theme is the military. The bourse will be open from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday and from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Sunday. Admission and parking are free.
