The Week in Shows (April 15-21)

There are nine major shows on the philatelic calendar this week.

Today is the final day of Postalia Printemps, which is being held at the Centre des Loisirs Ulric-Turcotte on 35 rue Vachon in Québec City, Qué. The show boasts more than 25 dealers, and admission and parking are free.

The last day of the Coins, Stamps and Collectibles Show, which is being hosted by the North Shore Numismatic Society at the Nikkei Centre on 6688 Southoaks Cres. in Burnaby, B.C., is also today. The show will be open from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and will feature 40 tables of stamps, coins, banknotes, tokens, medals, postcards, art, pins and more. Free underground parking is available on site, and admission is $2 (or free for children aged 16 and under if accompanied by an adult).

Today is also the final day of Nuphilex, which is being held at Complex EVO on 420 Sherbrooke St. W. in Montreal, Qué. The combined coin and stamp show is open from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., and admission is free.

NEXT WEEKEND

On April 21, the Scarborough Stamp Show will be held at the Cedarbrook Community Centre on 91 Eastpark Blvd. in Scarborough, Ont. The show will be open from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., and admission and parking are free.

Also on April 21, the Kawartha Stamp Club will invite the public to Kapex 2018—the club’s 62nd annual stamp show and exhibition—at the Evinrude Centre on 911 Monaghan Rd. in Peterborough, Ont. The only regional stamp show for the Peterborough area, the event will be open from 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and feature about a dozen dealers. Admission and parking are both free.

The monthly Burloak Stamp Fair will return to Burlington, Ont.’s Seniors’ Centre on 2285 New St. on April 21 The show—a regular monthly gathering for the past 21 years—is slated to feature upwards of 10 dealers buying and selling a range of philatelic material from 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Also on April 21, the Kamloops Stamp Show and Auction will be held at Sahali Centre Mall on 945 Columbia St. W. in Kamloops, B.C. The annual show—open from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.—features a highly anticipated auction at 1 p.m. Admission and parking are free.

On April 21-22, the International Stamp Show of Montreal, Exup 44, will be held at Maison du Citoyen on 7501 Rue François-Perreault in Montréal, Que. More than 15 dealers will be in attendance, and attendees are also invited to take part in a Canada Post raffle. The show is open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday and from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Sunday.

The Calgary Philatelic Society will host the Calgary Spring Bourse on April 21-22 at the Kerby Centre on 1133-7 Ave. S.W. in Calgary, Alta. The show will be open on Saturday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Admission and parking are both free.
