Stamp out war artist donation

Montréal artist Linda Wei-Chun, the woman behind the Stamp Out War project, has consigned a “philagraph” – a philately-inspired piece of art – to All Nations Stamp & Coin’s Nov. 25 online auction. All proceeds from the sale of the one-of-a-kind signed and certified artwork will be donated to the Canada-Ukraine Foundation, a national charitable foundation supporting humanitarian aid.

Wei-Chun created the 27.9-centimetre-by-35.2-centimetre artwork using graphite, charcoal, coloured pencil and watercolour on paper, and it features an Ottawa first-day cancellation and a Myrnam, Alta., Ukrainian Independence cancellation tying two examples of Canada Post’s 2022 semi-postal issue supporting Ukraine.

It’s expected to bring $400. For more details, visit allnationsstampandcoin.com.
