Sparks Auctions has announced its 10th public Floor Bid Sale, set to take place on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2024, at its office located at 1770 Woodward Drive in Ottawa.
The event will feature 180 lots of philatelic material, including stamps, covers, collections, face-value postage, philatelic literature, and collecting supplies. More than 200 cartons or stock sheets from 35 consignors will be on offer.
This in-person-only event begins with viewing at 7:30 a.m. EST and bidding starting at 1:00 p.m. No appointment is required for viewing on the day of the sale.
One highlight of the sale is Lot 180, a massive multi-generational collection of over 30,000 worldwide postcards featuring diverse subjects. Sparks Auctions invites potential buyers to browse the complete lot list in advance and plan their visit.
Past Floor Bid Sales by Sparks Auctions have attracted enthusiastic crowds, offering opportunities to find unique materials for collectors or dealers. The absence of shipping costs is an added bonus for attendees, who can take their purchases home the same day.
Sale Day Schedule
- 7:30 a.m.: Doors open for bidder registration, lot viewing, and paddle assignment. Complimentary coffee and treats will be provided, with pizza served at lunchtime.
- 12:50 p.m.: Viewing ends, and the auction room is prepared for the sale.
