The Sheepdogs, a five-piece rock band formed in 2004 in Saskatoon, Sask., has a special offer that should appeal to fans and deltiologists alike.
The band’s success skyrocketed after becoming the first unsigned group to grace the cover of Rolling Stone in 2011. “After hundreds of shows – at open-mic nights, 20-capacity bars, hot dog stands, a yurt and even in a tree – the Sheepdogs have perfected their vintage boogie-rock sound, with its flourishes of psychedelia, Allman Brothers-inspired guitar-weaving (they simply call it ‘guitar-mony’) and winding three-part vocal harmonies,” reporter Austin Scaggs wrote for the music-focused magazine that year.
Since then, the band has extensively toured the world, sold several multi-platinum albums and won four Juno Awards. While touring for its latest album Outta Sight in Europe this spring, and with future dates scheduled in Canada and the United States through 2022, the band posted on its social media accounts: “Do you miss getting mail? We’re having a blast over here in Europe and wanna share it with you. We want to send you a postcard. Fill in your info and we’ll send you some personalized snail mail from the road – simple as that.”
