Four Canadian philatelists who “have actively worked for the betterment” of the Royal Philatelic Society of Canada (RPSC) and Canadian philately have been named fellows of the esteemed national society.
Dealers Hugo Deshaye of Quebec and Roy Houtby of St. Catharines, Ont., along with RPSC president Greg Redner, of London, Ont., and Toronto philatelic author and researcher Michel Houde were named fellows by the society at its October convention.
According to the RPSC, to qualify for fellowship status, a member must meet at least one of the following criteria:
• have actively worked for the betterment of the RPSC;
• have promoted Canadian philately extensively through writing;
• have, through several activities, made Canadian philately better at the international level;
• and, must be a member of the RPSC.
The award authorizes the use of the letters FRPSC to follow the recipient’s name.
