The Royal Philatelic Society of Canada (RPSC) is introducing a new initiative aimed at advancing education and bolstering philatelic exhibitions.
Aligned with the RPSC’s dedication to prioritizing education, Canada’s stamp club is launching a free web course designed to provide collectors of all levels and interests with a fun introduction to the world of stamp exhibition.
The three-part course, scheduled on successive Tuesdays in May (May 14, 21, and 28), will commence at 7:30 p.m. EDT.
Society president Gregg Redner expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative.
“One of the societal priorities established in our new value proposition is the importance of education.” He says the new course not only provides valuable knowledge but also encourages engagement with philatelic exhibiting.
The course aims to demystify the process of stamp exhibition, catering to individuals who may have felt apprehensive or uncertain about participating in such endeavours.
“Perhaps you have no idea how to begin and are afraid it will be too difficult,” Redner writes in his April president’s message. “If this is the case, then this practical course is for you. Join us as we take you through the basics of creating and developing an exhibit.”
In the inaugural session on May 14, Redner will lead discussions on the enjoyment and benefits of philatelic exhibiting. Participants will delve into topics such as selecting a theme, deciphering exhibition terminology, and identifying where to exhibit.
