PSSC to elect new executive

The Philatelic Specialists Society of Canada (PSSC) will hold an election for all of its executive positions this December.

PSSC past president Ingo Nessel will co-ordinate the election of the seven-person executive at the society’s Dec. 13 virtual meeting, to be held via Zoom.

This September, Nessel spoke about the upcoming election at that month’s virtual meeting, where he explained an organization such as the PSSC “only succeeds due to the hard work of the executives and other members who contribute in other roles,” according to the September PSSC newsletter.

All executive positions are open for election, and Nessel encouraged PSSC members to throw their names in the hat or offer their volunteer help in other ways. The availability of Zoom and other digital technology means it’s no longer necessary for executives to attend the society’s in-person meetings in Toronto; however, he believes it’s “probably best if the president, secretary and treasurer are close to Toronto.”
