Vancouver postal workers launch campaign to save door-to-door delivery

On the one year anniversary of Canada Post announcing the elimination of door-to-door mail delivery, a new campaign to save the service and reverse the cuts is being launched by Vancouver area postal workers.

“We Deliver Canada” is an innovative web-native advertising campaign featuring a series of real postal workers explaining the value of door-to-door mail, the business case for maintaining this profitable public service and the potential for expanding Canada Post services.

The first video in the series is currently live at www.wedelivercanada.ca. The next two videos will be released between now and Christmas.

The We Deliver Canada campaign is encouraging Canadians to write to their Members of Parliament, calling on them to maintain door-to-door delivery and study expanding postal services.

“While Canadians face cuts, profitable new services like postal banking are not even being considered,” explainedKim Evans, president of CUPW Local 876. “We hope this campaign will help raise awareness that management and the government are wrong to cut delivery services.”
