Picture Postage stamp marks 150th anniversary of B.C.’s O’Keefe Ranch

The 150th anniversary of Historic O’Keefe Ranch in Vernon, B.C. has been commemorated on a Picture Postage stamp.

The stamp was designed by local collector and artist Peter Lepold, who’s also the publicity chair of the Kelowna and District Stamp Club (KDSC). It depicts the newly painted St. Anne Church, which is located on the same property as the ranch, which celebrated its big milestone last week.

Because the stamps were printed under Canada Post’s Picture Postage program, their availability is limited. To purchase a stamp, contact Lepold at lepold@telus.net or the O’Keefe Ranch at 1-250-542-7868.

Lepold has designed more than 100 Picture Postage stamps, including one celebrating the 500th anniversary of the 1516 Beer Purity Law in 2016 as well as the City of Armstrong, B.C.’s 100th anniversary in 2013.

More recently, in October 2016, Lepold also designed another Picture Postage stamp marking the 90th anniversary of the KDSC.
