The Philatelic Exporter, which billed itself as the world’s “longest-running and most established philatelic trade publication,” has ceased publication as of February.
First published in 1945, the magazine was acquired by the Stanley Gibbons Group in 2009.
“Due to the challenging economic conditions, the difficult decision has been taken to cease publication of Philatelic Exporter, with the February edition being the last one,” reads a Feb. 1 announcement on the U.K. publication’s website, thephilatelicexporter.com. “Many thanks to all the readers, contributors and advertisers for their support over the 78 years the magazine has been published.”
Gibbons has offered everyone with a leftover subscription after the February issue a proportional refund or a converted subscription for Gibbons Stamp Monthly.
