New Ontario club competition to debut at NTSC Exhibition

The North Toronto Stamp Club will launch a new inter-club exhibiting competition this spring aimed at encouraging participation and strengthening ties among Ontario philatelic societies.

The Garfield Portch Ontario Club Single Frame Competition will debut during the club’s 83rd annual exhibition, scheduled for April 11–12, 2026, in conjunction with the National Postage Stamp and Coin Show at the Hilton Mississauga/Meadowvale Hotel.

Designed to promote one-frame exhibiting and foster friendly rivalry, the competition invites Ontario-based stamp clubs that are members of the Royal Philatelic Society of Canada to enter three single-frame exhibits. Each exhibit will consist of 16 pages. Nationally accredited judges will evaluate the entries, and the club with the highest combined score will be declared the winner.

Exhibitors wishing to have their one-frame entry included in the competition must indicate their club affiliation on the entry form. If more than three members from a single club submit exhibits, the club will determine which three entries will count toward its final score.

The new competition honours Garfield Portch, a longtime Toronto philatelist and dedicated supporter of organized philately who has served for many years on the board of the Vincent Graves Greene Philatelic Research Foundation.

The winning club will host the competition trophy for six months before it is placed on display at the Greene Foundation.

The deadline for exhibit submissions is March 29, 2026. Further details, including entry information, are available at northtorontostampclub.ca.
