New collector’s book gets second printing

A second printing of a booklet geared to help new collectors “understand the fun, adventure and education to be found in stamp collecting,” is now available through the Canadian Stamp Dealers Association (CSDA).

‘My First Stamp Album’ is a 16-page booklet published by the CSDA and distributed through its Canada-wide membership. The original publication had a press run of 10,000, which ran out this spring. The CSDA has printed an additional 5,000 copies in English. The CSDA is also exploring the option of translating the book into French.

‘My First Stamp Album’ features various topics, encouraging collectors to find the Canada Post stamps for the following themes: animals, airplanes, cars, cartoons, flowers, sports, and spaceships. Each page also includes tips plus a page entitled, ‘Some Basic Information’. “There are no special requirements for using this album since there is no right or wrong way to collect stamps,” the introduction states. “The whole idea of stamp collecting is to have fun!” The booklet is available from any member of the CSDA.
