Effective Dec. 4, the Harry Sutherland Philatelic Library will be open without an appointment.
“We are thrilled to announce that starting Dec. 4, we will be open 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday without an appointment,” the library states in its November Harry Sutherland Philatelic Library Friends’ Newsletter. The appointment-only policy was implemented as part of COVID-19 safety measures.
“When visiting us, please press the white doorbell next to the glass door on the south side of the building under the black awning, which reads: “10 Summerhill Avenue The Greene Foundation.” One of us will come let you in.,” the newsletter adds.
The newsletter also advises readers “our Library Assistant Prossy Nambatya, who has become a familiar face for many of you in the library in recent years, is moving on to a new role … we are grateful for all of her work to keep the library going.”
The Harry Sutherland Philatelic Library at the Vincent Graves Greene Philatelic Research Foundation aims to support the work of the Greene Foundation and philately in Canada by:
- providing a comprehensive collection of items relating to British North American and Canadian philately;
- providing an up-to-date collection of items relating to expertizing, frauds and forgeries; and,
- supporting the basic needs of the Canadian philatelic community with definitive works on important collecting areas and the most recent general catalogues.
