Located in downtown Toronto on 10 Summerhill Ave., the library is part of the Toronto-based Vincent Graves Greene Philatelic Research Foundation. Its regular hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., but this summer, the library will also open its doors on three Saturdays.

They include:

The HSPL will also host an open house on Friday, June 21 – again from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. – to coincide with The Royal Philatelic Society of Canada’s 91st convention, which is being held June 21-23 in Mississauga.

A book sale and question-and-answer session entitled “Pick the Librarians’ Brains” will also be held at Royal*2019*Royale with Scott Tiffney, of the American Philatelic Research Library, on June 22 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Lastly, on July 17, the library will also host a tour of the Archives of Ontario (pre-registration with the HSPL required).

10,000 ITEMS

The HSPL is also available for use by appointment, and its catalogue is searchable via greenefoundation.ca.

The library’s collection holds more than 10,000 items, including nearly 7,000 books and 600 journals, among the highlights of which is the world’s best offering of British North American reference material.
