Historic Ontario town offers free postcards to residents

Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ont., a quaint town of about 17,500 people, has echoed Canada Post’s “Write Here Write Now” initiative by offering its residents free postage-paid postcards.

Until the end of March, residents were invited to complete an online form to choose one of five postcard designs featuring photos by local photographers. The postcards will be mailed – only one for each resident – starting next week. For more details, visit notl.com/postcard.

Beginning March 1, Canada Post mailed 13.5 million postage-paid postcards to all Canadian residential addresses (“Canadian households to receive free postage-paid postcards,” CSN Vol. 45 #24).
