Mattia Guida has been re-elected as president of the North Toronto Stamp Club (NTSC), which is hosting its annual Spring Bourse this weekend.
In his “President’s Message” in the NTSC’s latest newsletter, Guida announced it will be his third and last year at the helm of that society.
“I believe that it is important that we have a new President every two to three years to make sure we always bring new ideas and continuously renew and strengthen our Club,” he wrote, adding he hopes to accomplish “a couple of targets that I have set for myself.”
His first goal is to “bring in new members.”
“Considering the natural attrition, I think we need at least 15 new members per year to ensure continuous growth for our Club. I am looking forward to working with Bruce Philip, our Membership Chair, to achieve this ambitious target.”
Guida’s also hoping to rejuvenate the NTSC’s executive by “bringing new faces into our team,” adding he wants to add two executives by 2020 and expand members’ participation in the club’s committees.
“This is extremely important if we want our Club to continue to be one of the most active and diversified Stamp Clubs in Ontario.”
His most important target, however, is to make sure the NTSC “continues to be a place where you come to have fun and immerse yourself into the world of stamps and leave behind, for a few hours every month, all the worries and concerns of your day to day life.”
“I am looking forward to spending many happy and pleasant hours talking about our common hobby together with all of you in the next 12 months”
