Exhibit medals mark CAPEX history

The CAPEX 22 recognition medals, given to the show’s exhibitors, commissioners, judges, organizers, key sponsors and supporters, celebrate the seven-decade history of Canada’s international philatelic exhibition.

The medal design features the logo used at the past four CAPEX shows dating back to 1978, when the country hosted its second international exhibition following the inaugural event in 1951.

The other CAPEX shows took place in 1987, 1996 and now 2022.

The primary colours of the 2022 medal and its case feature “the internationally recognized red and white colours of Canada’s flag,” according to organizers of this year’s show.

“Wording reflects Canada’s official bilingualism and speaks to our proud English and French heritage. Philatelists who have attended past CAPEX exhibitions speak fondly of their experiences. We trust that these medals will generate many fond CAPEX 22 memories for years to come.”

Other CAPEX 22 souvenirs, including branded postcards, Picture Postage stamps, tongs, mugs, pens, notebooks and bags, are available through Coin & Stamp Supplies, a division of Trajan Publishing, at coinstampsupplies.com.
