CSN editor decides to ‘move on to new challenges’

Editor Bret Evans has decided to leave Canadian Stamp News and Canadian Coin News.

The following is a personal comment from Bret:

This has been one of the most difficult items for me to write, but after more than 20 years at Trajan Publishing, I have decided it is time to move on to new challenges.

This wasn’t a quick decision on my part, but was taken after considerable thought and deliberation. When I first came to this job, in 1990, I hadn’t planned on spending more than a year, but I found wonderful hobbies, wonderful people, and a great work place. I believe the next editor will find the job as fulfilling as I have.

So far, there is no exact date, publisher Michael Walsh is starting the search for that person, and I have agreed to stay at the helm until relieved, most probably in about six weeks.

There are many people I could thank, but it is still too early to say farewell.

This does not mean I am leaving the hobby. I will remain involved in the Royal Canadian Numismatic Association, and may even contribute some pieces to CSN and CCN.
