The second Virtual Stampex show opens its digital doors today with an extensive dealer bourse plus several exhibits, seminars and social events set to take place over 72 hours.
CSN is one of dozens of dealers with a booth at the March 25-27 show. To see the CSN booth – listed as “C8” – register for free at stampex.vfairs.com and then visit the show’s “booth hall” from the virtual lobby.
The PTS held its first Virtual Stampex last October. Ottawa dealer Chris Green, the only Canadian dealer to take a booth at the inaugural virtual show, called it “the future of philately” (“Virtual Stampex the future of philately,” CSN Vol. 45 #15).
“I found it to be a great platform to connect with collectors and was incredibly pleased with the traffic it generated to my website and social media,” Green told CSN in late October.
This weekend, in addition to CSN and Green, CAPEX 22 will also add to the Canadian presence on the Virtual Stampex bourse. CAPEX 22, the world’s first World One-Frame Stamp Championship, is coming to Toronto in June 2022.

BIANNUAL PTS SHOW
Forced to cancel its in-person Spring Stampex show slated for February, the Philatelic Traders’ Society (PTS), a U.K.-based dealers association, decided to host its second Virtual Stampex show this March.
“Our long-term vision for the Stampex brand is to ensure it is globally recognized and that it grows and connects philatelists all over the world,” said PTS Chair Suzanne Rae, who added the pandemic’s unpredictability, “even with a possible vaccine in place and with a tiered lockdown system,” made it “impossible to move forward” with an in-person event.
The next in-person Stampex is scheduled for September 2021, depending on the pandemic.
