The Digital Philately Study Group is the latest of about 20 such groups affiliated with the British North America Philatelic Society.
The new group, whose first meeting is on March 27, will focus on the digital tools and techniques enhancing the way collectors study and exhibit stamps and postal history. Without a specific collecting focus, the group will instead look at how collectors can apply digital philately to any area of specialization.
Co-sponsored by the Royal Philatelic Society of Canada, the inaugural meeting will be held at noon on March 27 and is open to anyone to attend. The link to attend the meeting via Zoom is bit.ly/3l4NKxu.
Dr. Darin Cherniwchan, of Abbotsford, B.C., is the group’s chair. He’s also the Canadian director of the Northwest Federation of Stamp Clubs, which includes 35 chapters from British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan plus five northwestern U.S. states.
