Christmas-themed club celebrates 50 years

Founded in Minnesota in 1969, the Christmas Philatelic Club (CPC) is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.

Specializing in “all types of Christmas philatelic material,” the CPC was originally organized by late collector Kenneth Mackenzie, who was active in the club until his death in 1991.

Mackenzie served as the CPC’s first president and journal editor, launching both the club and its award-winning quarterly journal Yule Log in January 1969.

Within its first year, the CPC boasted more than 100 members within its ranks.
