TRANS-ATLANTIC CARLING FLIGHT

Each year, Canpex recognizes a significant event or milestone in the history of the area. In 1927, Carling Brewery sponsored a trans-Atlantic flight from London, Ont. to London, England. The plane was named the Sir John Carling, but both it and its pilots—Terence Tully and James Medcalf—disappeared over the Atlantic Ocean. This year marks 90 years since the ill-fated flight.

Two covers, each franked with a specially-produced, limited-edition commemorative stamp, will be available for $5 each.

A third Canpex 2017 commemorative cover franked with one of the 10 Canada 150 stamps issued by Canada Post earlier this year, will also be available for $5.
