Canadians compete at Indonesia 2022

Six Canadian exhibitors competed with nine exhibits this August at Indonesia 2022, one of six international shows with Canadian participation this year.

Among the roughly 400 exhibits across more than 2,100 frames, the jury awarded 25 large gold medals plus 83 golds.

In the multi-frame category, Sam Chiu’s eight-frame postal history exhibit and his five-frame picture postcard exhibit both earned 90 points – each worthy of gold medals – while Charles Verge’s eight-frame revenue exhibit earned 86 points for a large vermeil.

Among the single frames, Walter Dziemianczuk’s aerophilately exhibit earned 91 points; John McEntrye’s traditional exhibit earned 88 points while his postal history exhibit earned 82 points; Verge’s traditional exhibit earned 86 points; Ingo Nessel’s traditional exhibit earned 86 points; and Steve Johnson’s aerophilately exhibit earned 81 points.

Indonesia 2022 took place from Aug. 4-9 in Jakarta, the country’s capital and the largest city in Southeast Asia. Only one international show with Canadian participation remains on the schedule in 2022: Cape Town 2022 will take place on Nov. 8-12 in Cape Town, South Africa.
