MAKING A DIFFERENCE
Since 2013, more than 660 organizations have shared in total funding of more than $7 million from the foundation. The grants helped fund literacy and language programs, youth outreach services, gender and sexual diversity programs, arts and recreation projects, special education programs, childhood health programs, anti-bullying initiatives, mentoring programs and more.
FOUNDATION STAMP
An annual five-week fundraising campaign makes the foundation’s grants possible.
Every fall, post offices across the country sell a dedicated foundation stamp and accept donations. The semi-postal stamp pays the domestic letter rate plus a 10-cent surcharge to support the fundraising initiative. The surcharge is indicated by “+10” following the “P” symbol, which represents the non-denominated Permanent rate.
Some locations hold fundraisers, and Canada Post employees can make voluntary payroll contributions throughout the year.
Information about the foundation and its granting process and criteria, including answers to frequently asked questions, is available on the foundation’s website, canadapost.ca/community.
