Bramalea Stamp Club’s Joe Trauzzi awarded for ‘Royal’ effort

Bramalea Stamp Club (BSC) member Joe Trauzzi recently received the Greater Toronto Philatelic Alliance (GTAPA) certificate of merit for his efforts as the chair of last year’s Royal Convention.

The annual convention of The Royal Philatelic Society of Canada, Royal*2019*Royale was held last June in Mississauga, Ont., with the BSC, West Toronto Stamp Club and CSN as the hosts.

GTAPA representative Jerry Piotrowski and BSC President Bob Thorne handed out the honour to Trauzzi at the BSC’s annual show on Feb. 1.

“If I can give one recommendation for someone doing a future Royal, it’s to find lots of volunteers to do little jobs. Don’t give someone a big job; give five or 10 people little jobs to do if you can get the support,” Trauzzi told CSN after last year’s Royal. “As exhausting as it was, I still want to do another show. If your local club ever gets a chance, do it; it sounds scary, but it’s not as scary as it seems.”
