Officials with the Boston 2026 World Expo will host an hour-long open meeting at the Great American Stamp Show on Aug. 12, the event’s opening day.
Beginning at 2 p.m., Boston 2026 organizers will highlight their planning progress to date followed by a question-and-answer period. During the meeting, Boston 2026 officials will also unveil the first in a series of limited-edition show labels created by stamp designer Chris Calle, of Ridgefield, Conn.
Boston 2026, the 12th U.S. international philatelic exhibition, will take place on May 23-30, 2026.
In the past year, organizers have prepared an initial show layout; put the first call out to prospective dealers, who are asked to contact bourse chair Mark Reasoner (mark.reasoner@boston2026.org) to be added to an email list for occasional news updates; discussed producing show medals with various mints; planned a membership drive; and developed a new website, expected to go live by mid-August.
The show’s venue, the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, re-opened for events as of May 29, when both city and state health officials lifted all COVID-19 restrictions.
