BNAPS scholarship offered for APS ‘Summer Seminar’

A pair of $1,000 scholarships for the 41st Annual Summer Seminar on Philately is being offered to young stamp collectors in Canada and the United States.

Each scholarship, which is open to people aged 16-24 (as of June 1), will help defray the cost of attending this year’s Summer Seminar.

The annual event is hosted by the American Philatelic Society (APS) at the American Philatelic Center in Bellefonte, Pa. This year, it will be held June 22-25.

“All courses are led by philatelic experts who are accomplished writers, exhibitors, experts, dealers, and specialized collectors,” reads the APS website.

The Norris “Bob” Dyer Scholarship is sponsored by the British North American Philatelic Society while the Wayne Youngblood Scholarship is sponsored by the APS. Each application will be reviewed by a selection committee and awarded on the basis of merit. The deadline to apply is April 1.
