‘Birds Eyes’ wins 49th Asiago International Philatelic Art Award

Liechtenstein Post was recently named the winner of the 49th Asiago International Philatelic Art Award for its three-stamp set entitled “Artistic Photography: Birds Eyes.”

Issued in September 2018, the stamps feature photographer Sven Beham’s work focusing on the eyes of three birds, including the grey heron, the great crested grebe and the cormorant.

The set’s “idea, skill, suggestion, colour and composition go far beyond the best photographic technique,” according to a statement issued by the judging panel.

The three-stamp ‘Birds Eyes’ set was designed by Hans Gassner.

The stamps, which were printed using four-colour offset and embossing with partial ultraviolet coating, were designed by Hans Gassner.
