The American Topical Association (ATA) is now accepting exhibit entries for its 67th Annual National Topical Stamp Show (NTSS), to be held June 23-25 at the Crowne Plaza Milwaukee Airport.
The prospectus, entry form and list of judges are posted on the ATA website. The deadline for exhibit entries is April 22 (or until all frames have been subscribed).
This World Series of Philately show is unique because all of its exhibits must develop a theme or storyline based on the image or wording of the material shown. In other words, every exhibit at this all-thematic exhibition will tell a story.
The show’s bourse will also feature 30 dealers with stamps for topical and country collectors, as well as covers, ephemera and postcards. Several cachet makers will feature topical material in addition to a wide range of other stamps, covers and philatelic material.
New this year is the topical exhibits category included in the revised APS Manual of Judging and Exhibiting (available for download here at the APS website). Topical exhibits are composed of a variety of philatelic elements to illustrate a topic or subject. More information is included in the manual. The new category was developed to encourage topical collectors to exhibit.
Rob Henak, a collector, exhibitor, and APS judge from the Milwaukee area, is the NTSS exhibits and judging chair.
The following philatelic judges will serve on the NTSS jury:
- Chief Judge Edwin Andrews, of North Carolina;
- Christopher Dahle, of Iowa;
- Thomas Fortunato, of New York;
- Alejandro Grossmann, of Mexico; and
- Elizabeth Hisey, of Florida.
