The American Philatelic Center (APC), the home of the American Philatelic Society (APS) and American Philatelic Research Library, resumed less restrictive operations on June 1.
A day earlier, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf lifted most of the state’s COVID-19 restrictions. Centre County, whose county seat is Bellefonte (where the APC is located), reported just two new cases on May 30.
“We’re ready to welcome our members and the public back to the American Philatelic Center,” said Scott English, APS executive director, who added the site hasn’t returned “completely back to pre-pandemic operations.”
People who aren’t fully vaccinated are required to wear a facemask, and all guests must sign in for contact training. In Washington, D.C., the National Postal Museum (NPM) is also set to re-open on Aug. 27.
The NPM will be the final Smithsonian Institution museum to re-open its doors.
