Another new CCO for APS

This June, only five months after naming Mark Kellner as its new chief content officer (CCO), the American Philatelic Society (APS) announced Thomas Loebig would be taking over that role immediately.

The APS CCO serves as editor of two award-winning journals, The American Philatelist and the Philatelic Literature Review, the latter of which is the flagship publication of the American Philatelic Research Library. The CCO is also responsible for leading the growth of digital content offered to members and non-members through the APS website, stamps.org.

“Tom brings experienced leadership in the digital content field and will help lead the APS and the hobby to serving 21st-century stamp collectors,” said Scott English, APS executive director.

An experienced digital media and broadcasting executive, Loebig most recently served as vice-president of digital media content and operations of AccuWeather.

A FORMER COLLECTOR RETURNS

Also a collector in his childhood, Loebig recently reignited his collecting interests and joined the APS.

“Stamps have deep historical significance and are beautiful pieces of American art,” he said. “I look forward to engaging our current members and introducing future members with amazing content that advances and promote the hobby.”

Loebig will join the APS team in Omaha, Nebraska, for the joint StampShow/National Topical Stamp Show hosted the APS and the American Topical Association this August.

The Royal Philatelic Society of Canada will also be sending representatives to this show as part of the preliminary stages of a newly launched partnership with the APS and other philatelic organizations worldwide.
