Another B.C. show deemed a success

Following the success of Richpex in late June (“Richpex brings collectors back to bourse,” CSN Vol. 45 #7), collectors in southern British Columbia held another one-day bourse on Aug. 16.

“Attendance was of course not what one would typically expect, but lots of people still came and it was great to connect with so many philatelic friends again,” said Tom Watkins, of North Saanich, B.C. “Like Richpex in June, we had COVID mitigation protocols in place, with attendees signing in at the door for contact tracing in the highly unlikely event that we have an issue.”

Face masks and hand sanitizer were also mandatory.

One attendee, Tim Woodland, of Maple Ridge, B.C., noted on Facebook he “felt safe and enjoyed the opportunity to distance socialize and participate in my favourite hobby.”

Depending on how the pandemic progresses, organizers are also planning to hold another bourse on Nov. 22 in Victoria, B.C.
