All Nations marks 1,350 sales

All Nations Stamp & Coin, based in Vancouver, B.C., hit another major milestone with its latest weekly sale on Feb. 26.

“Our 1,350th auction was a success in spite of world events,” said owner and auctioneer Brian Grant Duff. “The collectibles market is resilient. We had bids from as far away as the London international show and a normal amount of bidders.”

Among the sale’s highlights was a mint 1897 $3 Queen Victoria “Jubilee” stamp (Scott #63), which hammered down for $905, nearly doubling its estimate. Described by Duff as being in Fine to Very Fine condition, the previously hinged example was accompanied by a 2001 Philatelic Foundation certificate as Lot 34.

The following lot offered a used $3 Jubilee stamp, which was tied by a Winnipeg cancel and sold for $708 on a $400 estimate.
