BOSTON, Mass. – Thousands of collectors, exhibitors and dealers from around the world are gathering in Massachusetts this week as Boston 2026 World Expo continues with crowded aisles, strong dealer activity and renewed optimism about the future of philately.
Held May 23-30 at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, the international exhibition features approximately 4,000 exhibit frames, more than 100 dealers, dozens of philatelic societies and postal administrations from around the world. Canadian collectors and exhibitors are among those strongly represented during the show’s opening days.
One of the recurring themes emerging from the event is the importance of storytelling and personal connections within the hobby. Toronto exhibitor Jean Wang highlighted “freestyle philately” during a roundtable discussion examining the future of stamp collecting, encouraging collectors to share stories through their material in more accessible ways.
Canadian dealers are also reporting strong interest from collectors. Roy Houtby of Roy’s Stamps described the show as “super,” while Gary Lyon of Eastern Auctions said visitors have shown significant interest in the company’s upcoming sales. Many attendees point to the international atmosphere and face-to-face networking opportunities as highlights of the exhibition.
Canadian Stamp News will feature full Canadian coverage of Boston 2026 World Expo — including interviews, dealer reaction, exhibiting highlights and behind-the-scenes coverage — in the next issue of CSN (Vol. 51 No. 5).
