Boston 2026 postal lineup grows

With fewer than three weeks remaining before opening day, the roster of postal administrations and agencies attending the Boston 2026 World Expo continues to expand — although Canada Post will not be among them.

Canada Post confirmed earlier this year it would not participate in the international exhibition, citing financial pressures.

“Unfortunately, we will not be participating in Boston 2026,” Lisa Liu of Canada Post Media Relations told Canadian Stamp News in April. “Given Canada Post’s financial situation, we have had to limit non-essential international travel, including to philatelic events.”

The decision marks a notable absence for Canadian collectors, particularly given Canada Post’s strong presence at previous international exhibitions such as World Stamp Show New York 2016, where its booth attracted heavy traffic following the release of its Star Trek commemorative stamps.

Despite the absence of Canada Post, Canada will still maintain representation on the bourse floor through four dealers: Eastern Auctions, Sparks Auctions, Vance Auctions and Roy’s Stamps.

Meanwhile, the international postal administration presence at Boston 2026 continues to grow.

The Inter-Governmental Philatelic Corporation (IGPC), overseas sales agent for numerous postal administrations worldwide, recently confirmed it will exhibit at Booth G522 representing three major clients — the United Kingdom, Israel and the Marshall Islands. Collectors will be able to purchase the latest stamp issues from each administration during the exhibition.

Stampera will also bring new issues from several of its international clients. Expected offerings include stamps from BEEPOST, which represents the private international postal services of Estonia, Finland and Lithuania, along with issues from the Central African Republic, Djibouti, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Sierra Leone and Togo.

Countries currently participating through postal administrations include Andorra (Spanish Post), Bermuda, Cyprus, Faroe Islands, Fiji, Georgia, Gibraltar, Greenland, Guernsey, India, Ireland, Isle of Man, Jersey, Romania, Spain, Turkey, Ukraine and the United States. The United Nations Postal Administration will also be represented.

One of the popular traditions at international philatelic exhibitions will return with the introduction of a complimentary philatelic passport sponsored by Scott Stamp LLC, publisher of Linn’s Stamp News and the Scott Standard Postage Stamp Catalogue. Collectors can visit participating postal booths to obtain stamps and special exhibition cancellations corresponding to each country’s designated passport page.

Organizers are also continuing to recruit volunteers for the exhibition, with opportunities available from May 20-31. Volunteers are asked to contribute a minimum of two hours, with a variety of positions available throughout the show. Additional information is available through the Boston 2026 website or by contacting Volunteer Chairman Jere Dutt at Jere.Dutt@Boston2026.org.

Boston 2026 World Expo will take place May 23-30, 2026, at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center. Additional information is available at Boston2026.org as well as through the show’s Facebook, X and Instagram channels.
