A 95-cent stamp marking the Sorgues Spring Philatelic Show was recently issued by France’s La Poste.
Earlier this month, the city of Sorgues in the Vaucluse—a region in southeastern France—hosted the show, which boasted 25 dealers, an engraved stamp art booth, regional product stands and a booth administered by the French postal service.
The commemorative event stamp depicts the city’s town hall, which was built in the 19th century, in the foreground. The paddle wheels recall the importance of water in industrial development, and the Armenians Bridge—listed as a historical monument since 2001—is also shown.
A 40-stamp sheet was issued with each stamp measuring 60 millimetres by 25 millimetres. The stamp was designed and engraved by French artist Sophie Beaujard.
