UNPA celebrates UNIDO’s 50th

The United Nations Postal Administration recently issued a personalized “special event” sheet celebrating the 50th anniversary of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).

Composed of ten €0.80-denominated stamps, the sheet was designed by Eduardo Sinoy in collaboration with UNIDO Graphics Unit.

On Nov. 17 1966, UNIDO was established as a special organ of the United Nations General Assembly to assist, promote and accelerate the industrialization of developing countries, with a particular emphasis on manufacturing. As UNIDO celebrates its 50th anniversary, under the leadership of current Director General Li Yong, it remains fully committed to use its vast experience and technical expertise to assist countries to use industrial development to achieve poverty reduction, inclusive globalization and environmental sustainability.

A total of 8,500 sheets were printed.
