Dutch supermodel Doutzen Kroes—best known as one of the faces of L’Oreal—will grace 10 new stamps issued by PostNL.
Kroes is depicted in a number of poses with black-and-white photographs taken by another Dutch icon, Anton Corbijn, who’s a noted photographer and music video director. The ten photos show different cropped images: close-ups, half and three-quarter images, a full image, and more. The design also uses blue circles in a playful manner to make reference to the different variations on the fashion theme.
The 10 “doutzen, mode and muse” stamps are marked “Nederland 1”, which is the denomination for items up to 20 grams in weight destined for mail within the Netherlands.
‘FULL OF EMOTION’
A former Victoria’s Secret model, Kroes said the pictures are “atmospheric and full of emotion.”
“I usually see my photos in magazines and on posters. Photos in postage stamp format have different requirements in order to come across powerfully,” she added, last week. “Anton Corbijn succeeded in this perfectly, and as a result, the photos on the stamps are atmospheric and full of emotion. It was an honour to work with him.”
